When you understand your target audience, you can also target them better. This can be done online through advertisements, for example, but also offline, while shopping or exercising. We have made an overview for you, where your target group can be found. This is a selection of the many channels out there. Of course, other collaborations are possible.
Women 18 – 29 years
Young people spend over 19% of their monthly budget on clothing. That’s according to a survey conducted by InSites Consulting among young people between the ages of 15 and 25. Are you targeting young adults, with a focus on 18 – 29 year olds? You can find this target audience at various fashion retail, tanning salons, hairdressers and beauty stores. For example, you can sample your product at Vero Moda. Our Consumer Insights Application (CIA) shows that a whopping 37% of Vero Moda consumers are between the ages of 18 and 24. Pairing an appropriate contest, such as winning a fun outfit, can further engage consumers with your brand.
Women 29 – 49 years
A drink on the terrace, a coffee to-go, clothes and lunch at work. Millennials in particular have a lot of small spending, according to figures from DirectResearch. Therefore, sample your product while shopping or afternoon grocery shopping. You can sample your product at, for example, the bakery, greengrocer, but also fashion retail and the hairdresser are great opportunities to attract the attention of your target audience. Did you know that according to our CIA, 80% of the consumers at C&A are women? The largest group is between 35 and 44 years old.
Women between the ages of 25 and 45 use the opinions of other people around them. Make no mistake: this target group has tremendous purchasing power! She buys for the whole family and regularly does her shopping online. How about a fun sampling campaign at different supermarkets?
We are increasingly buying products online, according to CBS. In 2015, a whopping 71 percent of Dutch people bought online. In 2017, 53 percent of the Belgian population could be described as an online shopper. Netherlands among the top five within the European Union. Play smart on this by sampling your product online.
Men 18 – 29 years
Again, you can sample your product well from fashion retailers. You can additionally reach this target group at game stores and, for example, sneaker shops. In doing so, focus not only on physical stores, but also on webshop sampling. Still men buy something online more often than women and spend more money too, according to CBS figures. Nearly 76 percent of men shopped online last year, compared to less than 71 percent of women.
Men 29-49 years
We have started drinking less coffee since 2005. In liters, this is a drop of about 8 percent. But in monetary terms, we spend 20 percent more, Euromonitor figures show. Men drink more coffee than women, according to research from the National Coffee and Tea Survey conducted by Ruigrok Netpanel. On average, men drink 4.4 cups of coffee per day. Women, on the other hand, 3.9 cups per day. Sample your product at coffee shops, such as Barista Cafe or coffee shops.
You can also find this target audience at fashion retailers, DIY stores, liquor stores, car washes and auto garages. These last two channels are ideal for a product on-the-go. Our CIA revealed that a whopping 69% of consumers at BOB Autowas are male. So an ideal sampling opportunity!
Families with children
Families with children can be reached in many locations. For example, you can sample your product at various playgrounds and party stores, but also at kids retailers and sports retailers. Of course you can also sample your product in our sample box in the Netherlands or Belgium. This surprise package is aimed at families with children and in addition, this way you reach the consumer at the time when the consumer has the time and need to try your product.

Students
Over 65% of Dutch people between the ages of 16 and 30 exercise weekly, according to CBS. Also, two in three Flemings say they play sports several times a month (VRT). Healthy/Conscious Consumer
According to CBS, as many as 55% of women between the ages of 30 and 50 exercise weekly. Moreover, food has long since ceased to be “just food,” but a lifestyle. Therefore, sample your product at different sports clubs and yoga schools. Channels where vitamin pills and other supplements are for sale are also good locations to sample your product.
