First-party data collection FMCG

More and more FMCG companies are focusing on first-party data collection. This is logical, as first-party data allows you to better understand and serve your customers. By analyzing data such as browsing history, purchase history, search queries, and other interactions with your company or brand, you can gain a clearer picture of who your customers are and what their interests, needs, and preferences are. This allows you to serve customers better and also improve your marketing and advertising strategies by making them more specific and personalized. This is how you improve the customer experience and ultimately increase revenue.

Collect first-party data through activations

Activations are an effective way to collect first-party data because they offer interactive and engaging experiences that encourage participants to provide information. Consider, for example, a contest or loyalty program, a sampling campaign, or a cashback promotion. The most important data you can collect in this process are email addresses, which allow you to personalize communication. In addition, you can also collect consumer insights. This is how Lime Factory can collect first-party data for you (per activation mechanism).

Sampling campaign
  • In addition to a sample, the consumer receives a flyer containing a link and QR code that refers to a short questionnaire. We stimulate the response rate by means of an incentive.
  • The consumer can request a sample via an online form.
  • We can also collect email addresses via a flyer or email during a webshop sampling campaign.
  Cashback promotion
  • To participate in a cashback promotion, we ask the consumer to provide their email address.
  • This also allows us to follow up on the cashback promotion with an email inviting them to participate in a short survey. This provides you with more data and valuable consumer insights.

Contest campaign
  • A contest is also a good way to collect data. On the landing page of the contest (which we can provide for you, by the way), the consumer leaves their details and can choose to opt-in.
Loyalty program
  • To participate in a loyalty program, we ask consumers to register. Here, too, we ask for an opt-in. We can also fully manage this loyalty program for you, as we did for the Taksi Spaaraksi.
A combination of activations
  • To collect truly valuable first-party data, you can also start your own activation platform where registered users can request samples and participate in various contest, loyalty, and/or cashback promotions. We would be happy to advise you on this.
