Interview with Arthur Gibbon of Sport2000

Do you focus on the sporty consumer?  Sport2000 is a suitable channel for sampling. We have already carried out a lot of great sampling campaigns at Sport2000, for example for Lenor, Lipton and Ariel. But who are the faces behind Sport2000 who successfully implement the sampling campaigns?

Arthur Gibbon, 49 years old, works for ANWR-GARANT as team coordinator of the marketing team where he is responsible for, among other things, the Sport2000 formula. While Arthur indicates that the company is currently in a very challenging environment due to covid19, the future looks bright for the company.

Arthur states: “The importance of local, independent entrepreneurs has also become more known to consumers and that is precisely one of our most important distinguishing factors. With ANWR-Garant we provide services to some 450 affiliated, independent retailers that operate in the shoe and / or sports market in the Netherlands. ”

Of course it is important to find a good match with the product of the customer and the channel. Arthur is pleased with this: “Until now, all sampling campaigns have a good match with what we offer. Whether it is linked to sports, or it is a product that appeals to our target group. An A-brand with a sporty approach fits our target group perfectly! ”

What do the entrepreneurs of Sport2000 and the consumer actually think of the campaigns? “Both customer groups respond very positively. Both the entrepreneurs of Sport2000 and the consumers are happy with the sampling campaigns. The entrepreneurs like it because they can hand their customers something personally (or via an order). The end consumer always likes to get a ‘little extra’ that brings them into contact with a (possible) new brand in a positive way. ”

Finally, Arthur concludes: “Sampling is a positive way to let a consumer come into contact with a product. Once the advantages of a product have been tasted or tried, the threshold is much lower for eventually making a purchase. ”
